You can summon the families to stay and participate in this meeting of the Calasanz Movement Our daughters and sons have much to teach us.

We will begin with a simple prayer as we have the habit of greeting Jesus.

Then we will remember the work of the Solidarity Campaign and, specifically, the  proyect of wellcome to Migrantes that we are working with this age. To contextualize the reality of migrants.

From there, we will show that one of the main difficulties of a person who migrates, can be the language. Since your destination country is likely to not speak the same language. We invite you to watch the following video.

Fragmento BLUEY (DISNEY, 2022): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA3ggpuQXe4

We invite the girls and boys to comment the video. And if the protagonist finds it easy or difficult to make a new friend who speaks another language. Listening only to the children, we evidence that the game is a powerful tool to work the welcome and we propose them to play without saying a word. Or if they say it, let it be in an invented language, that no one can understand. Not necessarily in silence. They can scream, laugh, jump, … whatever they need to have fun.

While the children play, we will first observe how easy that WELCOME is for them. And then we will dialogue with the families about other tools that can be simple to use (and just as powerful as children’s games) to favour that welcome and integration of migrants who are incorporated into our communities, our neighbourhoods, etc. And we will invite them to put them into practice and disseminate them.

To finish, we will read the reading of Pentecost that will serve us for the final prayer, in which we will ask Jesus, who helps us not to be afraid to speak differently, to act in another way and above all to WELCOME THE FOREIGNER. Only He can give us the light and the courage we need to break those barriers.

This activity is proposed in the framework of the Solidarity Campaing 2023-24
