Moment 1. Prayer.

As we do every morning, we begin the day by greeting Jesus in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, but today is special because we are going to pray with our bodies. Treating our friends the way Jesus wants us to treat each other and, above all, the way He treats us. Let's listen first to a story about Jesus:

When Jesus grew up, he began to tell everyone:

The Kingdom of God, of love and joy, is among you!

Because people liked to hear such good news, they gathered around him as he said:

REJOICE you who are sad!

REJOICE if your hearts are pure!

REJOICE when you seek peace and righteousness!

REJOICE, for GOD LOVES YOU, as the best father and mother love their sons and daughters!

You are the SALT of the world, which gives flavour and joy to the earth.

You are the LIGHT needed by those who are sad and in darkness.

Do not worry about having many things, for that is not the important thing. Seek rather that which gives TRUE HAPPINESS.

Moment 2. Shared reflection.

What does this story want to tell us? Well, that Jesus always wants us to be happy, and that we can make each other and our families happy... how? By loving everyone as Jesus loves us, because when we love each other and feel loved, we feel happy.

Let's see for ourselves. We're all going to stand up, and when the song starts, we're going to start dancing. When the song stops and we can't hear anything, we give a hug to the person who is closest to us. And we have to make sure that no one is left alone, so if we have to give each other a three-way hug, then we give it to each other. No problem.

We'll do it three or four more times and then we'll listen to the little ones how they feel when they get a loving hug. Does that look like happiness? Well, that's how Jesus wants us to be, joyful, happy and making others happy.

To finish, we close our eyes, hold hands and repeat: “Jesus, I want to be your friend, every day. And to love you always so much, like the strongest hug in the world”.

Moment 3. Creative proposal.

CAs we have not been able to give Jesus a hug, because we cannot touch him, we are going to prepare a beautiful drawing for the day we celebrate peace, to offer it in prayer. Or to take it home and keep it in our room, and always remember the hugs we want to give to Jesus.
