“Grandparents are as necessary to a child’s growth as vitamins.” Joyce Allston)

Phase 1. Motivation.

Students watch a video (Antena 3 news) and receive an email from a nearby residence for the elderly in which they are presented with a problem in their immediate environment. Montequinto lags behind Spain in terms of health, anxiety, socialisation… in elderly people as a consequence of COVID-19.

Phase 2. The start.

Students brainstorm to find out different ways to help. Once they have decided, the email is replied to, showing our interest in collaborating to improve the situation.

Phase 3. The research.

Students research all the elements they will need to implement their plan (how the body works, healthy habits, games, how to get to the residence for the elderly, etc.).

Phase 4. The plan.

The students go to the old people’s home and present the results of their research: they teach new games, cooperative activities, promote physical activity plans…

Phase 5. The evaluation.

All aspects of the project are evaluated (evaluation, self-evaluation, coevaluation, etc.).

Phase 6. The reward.
Students receive a diploma for their good work and get interviewed for the television.
