Age:

- 14-16
Objectives :
- To raise awareness of the value of security in the vital development of individuals and communities, especially children and young people.
- To approach the reality of Cameroon, through everyday images, in order to encourage adolescents to give a face to the people affected by the conflict and to be able to empathise with their situation to a greater extent.
- Promote a critical and reflective attitude towards different types of conflicts, which will enable them to separate identity, ideological, moral, and other aspects.
- To encourage a committed response to the immediate environment, but also to more distant realities, such as those in Cameroon.

Valoración:
Teacher's pre-task: learn more about the current armed conflict in Cameroon (information can be found at https:https://www.amnesty.org/es/location/africa/west-and-central-africa/cameroon/report-cameroon/) and/or the project at the Itaka-Escolapios headquarters in Bamenda (see annex 1).
FIRST PART: FEEL
An approaching dynamic is proposed so that adolescents can empathise with the situation that people of their own age may experience in Cameroon:
- To begin with, they are asked to make a mental review of their day and draw up a list of activities or actions that they carry out on a daily basis (extracurricular activities, travel, domestic activities, academic activities...).
- They are presented, using a Genially (annex 2), the conflict situation in Cameroon, with its various aspects (Boko Haram, English-speaking regions ...)
- Based on the information displayed, they are asked to review their list and to cross out all the activities or actions that they would not be able to carry out if they were inhabitants of these Cameroonian regions.
SECOND PART: IMAGINE
From the first exercise, promote a reflection in groups on what has arisen or stirred them up when they crossed off the list of activities they could not do. Students share with the small group how they would feel about the situation, or what thoughts come to mind. A spokesperson from each group passes on what has been shared for the sharing. The person in charge of accompanying the activity takes notes of the main ideas expressed by each group, in order to get an overview.
THIRD PART: CHANGE
Once this reality has been shared and brought down to earth, it is proposed to move on to action: the pupils will make small posters with simple messages that they would like to convey to people of their own age who are affected by insecurity in Cameroon.
A short video could be made in the classroom, with students showing their posters to the camera and accompanying these messages with gestures. This material could be shared through the school's channels as part of the PEACE day campaign.
Variant: They can also prepare a simple and short phrase in support of those suffering in war-torn countries, and record a video to post on social media in English, French, Spanish... and all the languages that the students speak, or decide to learn for their project.
In order to share this content on social networks, which can be done through the Official Accounts of the different schools, we invite you to use the hashtags: #OneVoiceOneMillionChanges / #PeaceMission / #ItakaEscolapios and to mention the Official Account of Itaka Escolapios: @reditakaescolapios.
PROPOSAL FOR THE CENTRAL EVENT OF DENIP:
Students of these ages can attend the event with their posters, as a gesture of commitment and closeness to the situation in Cameroon.
