Objectives :
- Develop scientific and technological competence, identifying and discussing the relationships between the different elements of the natural environment.
- Develop social and citizen competence, becoming aware of the importance of environmental sustainability.
- Develop the critical thinking competence, discussing the information and elaborating conclusions.
- Sensitize the educational community about the importance of parks in the quality of life of people and in the care of the environment.
- Promote citizen participation in the conservation of natural space

Calendar of activities:
- Weeks 1-2: Compilation of information on the benefits of the parks in the surrounding and in the environment.
- Weeks 3-4: Research on the history of the park.
- Weeks 5-6: Elaboration of informative posters on the importance of flora in air quality.
- Weeks 7-8: Visit to the website of the Calasanz Movement and elaboration of an infographic on the relationship of the Calasanz Movement with the care of the Common Home.
- Weeks 9-10: Presentation of the final product to the educational community.
Project evaluation:
The project evaluation will be made considering the following criteria:
- Effectiveness: It will be valued if the project has managed to achieve the pedagogical and improvement objectives of the environment.
- Participation: The degree of participation of the students in the project activities will be valued.
- Final product quality: The quality of the informative posters and the infographic about the Calasanz Movement will be valued.
It is expected that the project will have a positive impact on the educational community, raising awareness among students about the importance of parks in people’s quality of life and in caring for the environment. In addition, the project is expected to promote citizen participation in the conservation of natural spaces.
Specifically, the project could have the following impacts:
- Pedagogical impact:
- The students will develop their scientific, social and citizen competences, while contributing to the improvement of the environment.
- The students will become aware of the importance of the parks in the quality of life of people and in the care of the environment.
- The students will feel more committed to the care of the environment.
- Social impact:
- The project will sensitize the educational community about the importance of the parks.
- The project will promote citizen participation in the conservation of natural spaces.
- The project will contribute to improve the quality of life of the people who live in the community.
Conclusions:
This service-learning project is an opportunity for the students of Compulsory Secondary Education to develop their competences, while contributing to the improvement of the environment. The project is designed so that the students actively participate in the activities, so that they can learn in a meaningful way and acquire knowledge and skills that will be useful in their personal and professional life.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you cannot work the methodology of the in the service-learning process, and you need a simpler proposal we have foreseen that, at least, you can work the solidarity campaign by carrying out the weeks 5 to 8
