METHODOLOGY “BREAKING WAYS”

Welcome once again to the Itaka-Escolapios solidarity campaign, which under the slogan BREAKING WAYS seeks to involve us in a process of learning and social transformation, where we can become agents of change.

In the field of formal education, this year we continue to bet on the Service-Learning methodology (ApS), where the work in interdisciplinary projects will allow us to apply what we have learned in the classroom to improve the environment. We are passionate about this approach because it promotes the active participation of everyone in activities that promote values such as solidarity, commitment and social justice.

The different missions proposed will be worked by age groups, adapting the contents and activities to the different educational stages and allowing us both to learn about some Piarist projects to commit to real causes. Through of the activities designed we will have the opportunity to learn about issues such as the defense of children’s rights, or interculturality, among others.

The different themes worked on by age are presented below:

STAGE SUBJECT
3 to 5 EMOTIONAL EDUCATION
6 to 8 INTERCULTURALITY.
8 to 10 ENVIRONMENT. Care of the common home.
10 to 12 DEFENSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS. Activism and social participation.
12 to 15 ART AS A TOOL OF SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION.
15 to 18 THE ROLE OF WOMEN TODAY.

Also from the Calasanz Movement and the prayer proposals we will deepen in these topics.

Remember that the key to the success of this campaign is to carefully prepare each activity. To do this, we offer a wide variety of resources: awareness activities, project sheets, videos, songs, and more. We invite you to browse the website and discover all the proposals from the hand of Calasanz.

Together, let’s open roads of hope and build a better future, full of solidarity, justice and commitment.
